FAQ

Q: After powering on the module, the recognized serial port devices and USB port keep resetting/rebooting?

A: Check whether the USB port supply voltage is below 5 V. Typically, the USB port supply voltage is above 4.9 V, and the module USB port can be used normally. If the voltage is below 4.9 V, it may result in insufficient power and USB disconnection. In such cases, switch to a USB port with adequate voltage.

Q: During repeated flashing, serial port connection fails or flashing fails?

A: You can force the board into download mode in one of the following ways:

  • Press and hold the EN button for more than 1 second, then release it. Wait for the computer to re‑detect the device, then flash again.
  • Press and hold the BOOT button, press the EN button and release it, then release the BOOT button. The board will enter download mode, which can resolve most flashing issues.
Q: After switching to another board of the same model, flashing fails or the program runs abnormally?

A: When you change boards, the COM port assigned by the computer usually changes. Please reselect the COM port and the target chip, then recompile and flash.

Q: The ESP‑IDF action buttons are missing from the VS Code bottom status bar?

A: Press F1 to open the command palette and search for Espressif IDF. If the extension shows as untrusted, set it to trusted and it will work properly.
