ESP32-S3-LCD-1.28
ESP32-S3-LCD-1.28 is a low-cost, high-performance MCU board designed by Waveshare. It features an onboard 1.28inch LCD screen, lithium battery charging chip, six-axis sensor (three-axis accelerometer and three-axis gyroscope), and other peripherals. The ESP32-S3R2 used is a system-on-chip (SoC) integrating low-power Wi-Fi and BLE 5.0, and it also has external 16MB Flash and 2MB PSRAM. The SoC's internal hardware encryption accelerator, RNG, HMAC, and digital signature modules can meet IoT security requirements. Its multiple low-power operating states meet the power consumption requirements of application scenarios such as the Internet of Things (IoT), mobile devices, wearable electronics, and smart homes.

Interface Introduction

- Type-C interface: The development board uses the CH343P chip for USB-to-UART, connecting to the ESP32-S3's UART_TXD (GPIO43) and UART_RXD (GPIO44), used for firmware flashing and log printing. With the auto-download circuit, you can directly download firmware after connecting a Type-C cable.
- 1.27mm pitch header: The development board breaks out most GPIOs for external connections. GPIOs can be configured for peripheral functions such as I2C and SPI. VSYS can directly input 5V to power the development board.
- LCD interface: The development board has an onboard 1.28inch screen with 4-wire SPI communication. The SPI rate can be increased to 80MHz (the development board uses GPIO40 to control backlight brightness; for details, please refer to the schematic).
- I2C interface: The ESP32-S3 provides multiple hardware I2C channels. Currently, GPIO6 (SDA) and GPIO7 (SCL) pins are used as the I2C bus. The onboard QMI8658 6-axis IMU is mounted on it. For details, please refer to the Schematic.
- MX1.25 connector: GPIO1 of the development board is used to measure the battery voltage pin. The battery voltage is divided by 200K and 100K resistors in series and connected to GPIO1. The ESP32-S3 series has 2 channels of 12-bit SAR ADC measurement units.
